The great extraordinary figures of mystic as Therese of Jesus and John of the Cross are imposing each time with greater force, from the cultural-literary point of view, as well as the religious and mystic one. From all the corners of the world, we have received petitions to be able to study, deepen and promote specialized courses about these authors. It is logical that these petitions are directed to Avila and our Center.

Of course, this would place Avila, Castilla-Leon and Spain in a pioneer position within this field. An “International Institute could be the answer to all these. It would be a form of contributing to the cultural and even economic wealth of our land. It would be an effective way to potentate the interior human values as well as those of relationship. The continuity and future of the work carried out up to now by the CITeS urgently requires adequate installations corresponding to its aims and objectives We are not talking about a possibility of development, but of something which already exists. We are not offering something “new”, but are living an immediate reply to the international demand which already exists in this field, and which cannot be given a valid reply as long as there are no structures and installations which will favor its development. That is the challenge of the projected “International Institute of Mystic”.

Las instalaciones actuales, pensadas originariamente para un grupo no superior a 15-20 personas, se han quedado muy pequeñas. La capacidad del CITeS está ya muy por debajo de las demandas. No se dispone más que de un aula, y el espacio de la biblioteca no da ya más de sí.
